Last August NAPCO launched the hydrofluoric acid-free etch and cleaner combo, Piranha Prep. This innovative refinishing product is formulated to complete the entire etch and cleaning process in just 10-15 minutes. This frees up hours of valuable time for refinishers so they can focus on more complex aspects of their refinishing jobs.
At just $13.34 per quart, Piranha Prep saves refinishers money, time and shelf space by replacing both the etch and polycleaner products. It is the perfect product for a variety of refinishing jobs and is a staple item for cost-efficient and time-sensitive projects. Perfect for use on tile, ceramic, metal, porcelain and fiberglass surfaces, and formulated to clean tough and stubborn stains.
How to Use Piranha Prep
When using Piranha Prep, be sure to have the proper safety equipment such as chemical-resistant goggles and gloves. Simply pour the product over the work surface and wait just 10-15 minutes for Piranha Prep to take effect. Then thoroughly rinse away all remaining residue with COLD water and pat the surface dry with a lint-free cloth before applying the topcoat. This 2-in-1 combo gets the job done in one easy step and can save up to 60-minutes on each refinishing job. Make sure to avoid contact with skin or clothing, and store the product indoors at temperatures between 50 and 85 degrees.

Piranha Prep is also formulated to be environmentally-friendly and safer to use compared to other etch and cleaning products. That’s because Piranha Prep contains no hydrofluoric acid, one of the dangerous chemical compounds often found in leading cleaning and refinishing products.
